Recognized expert in the use of social and game mechanics to drive positive behavior change and former CMO at The New York Times Company and SVP/GM of Boston.com, Susan Hunt Stevens is the founder and CEO of WeSpire, an employee engagement platform. In this interview, Susan talks about WeSpire and also shares her views on the trends and technologies in the HR space.
Let’s start by briefly introducing WeSpire. In a sentence, what is WeSpire and what’s its unique value proposition?
WeSpire is a SaaS-based technology platform that leading organizations use to design, run, and measure positive impact programs, including but not limited to, corporate culture, wellbeing, social impact, and sustainability. These programs encourage employees to make decisions that are good for them, good for the company, and good for the world we live in. WeSpire is the only platform that provides organizations with the flexibility to manage all of these programs and measure the impact they’re having on employee engagement in one centralized location for employees.
Is yours a point solution or a suite? Why did you choose to build what you built?
WeSpire started as an engagement platform focused on sustainability. However, two years ago, our customers began to ask us to support a much broader range of employee engagement programs including corporate social responsibility, health and wellbeing, corporate culture initiatives, diversity & inclusion, financial wellbeing and more.
In order to handle the range and scale of programs requested, we built tools into the WeSpire platform that enable customers to design, run, and measure the impact of any employee engagement program they decide to run. They can also choose to share any program they design with others in our customer network. This has helped us to scale from a library of 200 employee engagement campaigns, to an estimated 1800 that will be run this year. These features and capabilities have transformed WeSpire into a much broader platform solution.
