This week was a big week at WeSpire, as our 7th annual State of Employee Engagement research report was released. This year, we surveyed over 1,700 full-time US employees and expanded our survey to include a separate track for employees in human resources, as well as added more questions about preferences for rewards/incentives and additional demographics data.
This year’s report is chock full of new insights, including that 62% of employees state they are actively looking or open to new opportunities, a 4 percentage point increase from last year, and the major reason companies need to be thinking more strategically about employee engagement.

Some other key findings include:
- Over 82% of employees are interested in prosocial rewards and incentives, and it’s even higher for millennials and Gen Z
- The percentage of companies that provide Diversity & Inclusion programs rose from 29% to 37% within a year, the biggest jump of any program
- When not offered, sustainability is the most requested program by employees in companies with an employee engagement strategy
